Of the many life goals that people have nowadays: a financially stable and fulfilling career, a nice home in a nice neighborhood, an education that allows opportunities for growth and advancement, at the top of most people’s list is a happy and healthy family. For some people, infertility causes this number one goal to be pushed aside because they cannot seem to conceive a child, but with the advances in medical science, sterility does not have to hold you back any longer. There are places you can turn to that specialize in helping people who want children achieve their dream.

Infertility might not even be the problem as in the case of same sex couples, as they do not have the correct anatomy to conceive on their own and need the help of sperm banks and artificial insemination. For same sex female couples, they may choose which one (or even both!) that can undergo the procedures necessary to carry a child that they will bring in to the world to love forever. In the situation of a same sex male couple, they may opt to use their own donor sperm and impregnate a surrogate through artificial insemination.

For couples consisting of the opposite sexes, there are times when sperm banks may need to be utilized to bear a child. If the male in the relationship has undergone cancer treatments and has been rendered infertile, but is living a healthy cancer-free life, this may seem like a rough trade off, but one that was well worth the time and effort. There may have been an accident leaving a male without the necessary sperm count to insure a pregnancy without technological advances or the man may have been born sterile. Even a single male or female can now conceive without a conventional mate or mating. No matter the cause of the condition, there are sperm donors who have given so selflessly to be able to bring a baby in to the world to a parent or parents that will love it eternally.

What used to carry such a social stigma has now been embraced by so many icons and stars that people are beginning to see the good that can come out of artificial insemination, sperm banks, and egg donors who allow couples previously without hope, achieve their goals of a happy and healthy family. With surrogacy on the rise for people who cannot conceive on their own, people are looking in to the wonders of modern medicine more often than before and what they are finding is that miracles do happen.

People who were previously told they will never have children now have hope and science backing them up in their endeavor to conceive. With the help and selfless love of a complete stranger, single men, woman and couples alike can hold a child in their arms that is all their own. They can raise it with the diversity and nonjudgmental attitude of people who have had to ask for help and received it through the generosity of others.
